The ride home on bus 11-07 was delayed for students in Armuchee after a vehicle struck the bus in the rear, according to Floyd County Schools Assistant to the Superintendent Tim Hensley.

Hensley said the accident happened around 1:45 p.m. on Little Texas Valley Road. There was no visible damage to the bus and very little damage to the front of the car, he added.

All students and the bus driver were checked by medical personnel on site as a precaution.

Only a female high school student complained of neck pain. Her parents were notified and she was taken to a local hospital, Hensley said.

A second bus picked up the students and took them home after receiving clearance from police and medical personnel on the scene. Hensley said the students were likely home by 4 p.m.
