Technology conference will start today

The two-day Rome Confluence 2013 technology conference will kick off today at the DeSoto Theatre.

Approximately 300 attendees already have signed up for the series of workshops focused on business innovation, invention and inspiration. Keynote speaker Chris Anderson, former editor-in-chief of Wired magazine, will give the first presentation, titled “Makers: The New Industrial Revolution.”

Tickets cost $30 for students and educators, $125 for Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce members and $175 for non-members. A copy of Anderson’s book about the topic is included.
