Weather update: Isolated storms, lightning could continue through the weekend

Update: The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook at 8:40 p.m. warning north and central Georgia counties that isolated thunderstorms, occasional lightning, brief gusty winds and flooding are possible through the weekend.

Update: It started raining in Rome around 6:30 p.m. and some lightning has accompanied the rain. Thundershowers are in the forecast through the evening.

Previously posted:It's going to rain tonight. The National Weather Service is predicting 100 percent chance of rain with showers likely after 9 p.m. tonight.

We can expect new precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Today's high is expected around 59 with a low near 46 tonight.
