After finishing the regular season with a 13-10 over record and 5-1 record in NJCAA Region XVII play, the Georgia Northwestern Lady Cats now begin play in the region tournament in Warner-Robins.

The Lady Cats are the No. 1 seed in the tournament after winning a coin toss against West Georgia Tech.

The two teams finished tied in first place at the end of the regular season.

The tournament will take place at Middle Georgia Tech, and the Lady Cats will face Southern Crescent Tech on Saturday at 4 p.m.

“We’re looking forward to it,” said head coach Jim Williams. “We finished the season pretty strong, and we’re trying to get our game on for the tournament.

“They’re fired up,” said Williams about his Lady Cats. “They won their last two ballgames so that gave them some momentum. They’re a strong team.”
