WAYCROSS, Ga. (AP) — A southeast Georgia man has been sentenced to life in prison after a jury convicted him of molesting several children at an in-home day care center run by his wife.

The Florida Times-Union reports 65-year-old Raymond Wilson was convicted of five counts of child molestation and one count of sexually assaulting a child in Ware County Superior Court. Judge Jeffrey Kight gave Wilson three life sentences plus 43 additional years in prison.

Kight's defense attorney, John Thigpen, said the judge made "notable errors" in several trial rulings, but he was unsure if Kight would appeal.

Witnesses testified Kight lured children to sit in his lap and then would touch them. Prosecutors said the molestations happened over five years until November 2011, when a young girl told her family.
