ATLANTA (AP) — Heavy rains moving into Georgia are bringing new concerns about flooding.

Forecasters say as much as 3.5 inches of rain could fall in parts of central and south Georgia.

The National Weather Service issued a flood watch covering much of the state. The watch is to be in effect from 7 a.m. Monday through Tuesday evening.

Some of the heaviest rainfall totals --- up to 3.5 inches -- were expected south of a line from Columbus to Macon and Swainsboro.
