Berry’s Lacey Herring, a former multi-sport standout at Rockmart High, was named the Southern Athletic Association’s softball Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Herring has helped Berry get off to a 4-2 start.

The senior second baseman is hitting .588 with three doubles, seven RBIs and five runs scored. She also is 2-for-3 on stolen bases.

The Lady Vikings travel to Chattanooga today to play Covenant.
