Everyone in Rome who remembers the blizzard of 1993 has a story to tell. We want to hear yours.
It was 20 years ago on March 12, a Friday, when the snow began to fall and by Saturday, March 13, Floyd Countians woke up to 18 inches of snow, no electricity and frigid temperatures.
The Rome News-Tribune wants to share your stories from that crazy weekend with our readers. We also want any pictures you have from that time period, realizing that your little kids who were sliding in the front lawn are not so little anymore.
You can send your stories and old photos to MColombo@NPCo.com. In the subject line, please simply type “Blizzard.” Send any old photos as .jpg or .tif attachments, and color is preferable. The photos need to be as big as possible and at least larger than 100 kilobytes in size. Please include your full name and phone number in case we have any questions.
