“I just had this opportunity and I think there is a market for it out here in Armuchee,” Hackett said. “There’s nothing like it outside of Mexican food and pizza.”
Hackett said he plans to serve home cooked meals prepared with fresh meats, all natural chicken and pork and fresh fish from Hackett’s Meat Market. “We will be serving fresh vegetables (when available) and soups,” Hackett said. “We will have freshly prepared salads with hot rolls and muffins. We will also have “Heart Smart” items available every day.”
Hackett said that he was not having to do much renovation to the building which most recently was home to the Sports Bar and Grill. The interior will be something similar to an upscale cafeteria like atmosphere; something Hackett said might remind folks of an upscale Morrison’s type of layout.
“Having the fresh market means I’m going to have the freshest of meats,” Hackett said.
Hackett said that using his own smoker, the new café would have a variety of different smoked items available. Shortly after opening, Hackett plans to add a potato bar and a hot dog bar.
“I feel good about it otherwise I wouldn’t be doing it,” Hackett said. “We’ve already gotten big interest and a lot of positive feedback.”
