The Aerials’ program — which switched over from AAU Gymnastics to USAG Gymnastics two years ago — brought home a huge collection of medals from the event in Atlanta.
The list included:
Level 4 — First Place (with a total team score of 112.750, the program’s all-time highest. It’s an average score of 9.400 three times on all four events.)
Level 5, Second Place
Level 6, First Place
Level 7, Fourth Place
Level 9, Fourth Place
There were 42 individual team members taking home over 200 medals, and were multiple gold, silver and bronze medals awarded.
The individual gold medalists, who were competed on various levels and age groups, were Amanda Buzzetti (vault, bars, floor, all-around), Blythe Crabbe (beam), Molly Maddox (bars, beam, all-around), Addison Blake (beam), Grace Schultz (vaults, bars, beam, all-around), Trinity Pyle (floor), Mayu Askew (bars), Aspen Blankenship (bars), Tabatha Pearson (bars), Ansley Wynn (floor), Raegan Bohn (bars), Daly Owens (vault, bars), Lenayah Taylor (vault, floor, all-around) and Nadia Smith (beam).
The team gold medalists were the level six team comprised of Kayln Estes, Zoe House, Nadia Smith and Taylor.
They were joined by the level four team of Buzz-etti, Crabbe, Abby Henderson, Maddox, Owens and Wynn.
There are currently three Level 9 gymnasts working towards athletic scholarships: Chloe Schuttinga (Soph.), Pearson (Soph.) and Kendall Arasmith (Fresh).
The Rome Aerials will also be hosting the USAG Levels 2-6 State meet May 4-5 at the Forum.
The public is invited to watch throughout the weekend as the Aerials look to extend their run of success.
