Georgia Northwestern Technical College will begin a new Certified Logistics Associate training class March 26.

Nick Sainato of M&S Logistics in Calhoun directs the program.

The CLA program uses the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council training, assessment and certification system.

Tricia Pridemore, director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development told a group in Adairsville last week that the state would need more than 12,0000 new CDL drivers within three years and the logistics program is growing by leaps and bounds to facilitate the smooth movement of freight not only through Rome but the entire state.

An orientation program for prospective students will be held March 18, at 10 a.m., at the GNTC Floyd campus Building I- Room 114.
