Mrs. Madge Pittman Hand of Camden, Tenn., announces the engagement of her daughter, Leanne Hand to Joe Cook of Rome. The bride-elect is the daughter of Madge Pittman Hand and the late Bobby Joe Hand. The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Cook of Smyrna.

Miss Hand is a graduate of Berry College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and a graduate of Emory University with a Masters of Divinity. She is employed as the

Senior Director of Marketing for Harbin Clinic.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Martha Pittman of Austell, Naomi Hand of Hazelhurst, the late Maurice Pittman, and the late Mr. Carl Hand.

Cook, a graduate of Berry College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, is the Executive Director of Coosa River Basin Initiative and author of an upcoming series of Guidebooks to Georgia Rivers published by the University of Georgia Press.

The groom-elect is the brother of Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Frazier of Franklin, Tenn., and Sherry Cook of Newnan. The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hall Cook, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Ramsey.

A wedding ceremony is planned for June 1, 2013 in Rome. Invitations will be sent.
