Steven and Carmel Corcoran of Peachtree City and John Cowart of Ringgold announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Ann Cowart to Kevin Shane Osborne, both of Kingston. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Osborne of Brush Creek, Tenn.

Miss Cowart, a graduate of Georgia State University with a Master of Public Health degree, is currently a Project Coordinator at Georgia State University. The bride-elect also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Berry College. While attending Berry College, she was the recipient of the Robert L. Geisel award for excellence in Sociology.

The bride-elect is the sister of Austin Cowart and Matthew Cowart, both of Chattanooga, Tenn. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Debono of Dix Hills, N.Y., Kathleen Cowart of Dalton and the late Erwin Cowart.

Osborne is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Huntsville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. While attending the university, he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He is currently the owner of Sunbelt Holdings, Inc.

The groom-elect is the brother of Allison Daniel of Lebanon, Tenn., Dane Osborne of Nashville, Tenn., and the late Cliff Osborne Jr. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cosby Sells, and the late Lattie Osborne.

A wedding ceremony is planned for Sept. 21, 2013 in Rome. Invitations will be sent.
