The Berry College Dance Troupe invites area residents to celebrate the pleasures and virtues of living the good life as it presents “Eudaimonia.”

Loosely translated to happiness, Eudaimonia can represent spiritual enlightenment, prosperity, and virtue.

Two unique pieces in this year’s concert are an all-male piece as well as a piece incorporating Middle Eastern flare with group belly dance.

The all-male piece uses “stepping” to create the music.  Each dancer creates the beat with a mix of vocals, claps, and stomps.

The Middle Eastern Dance Troupe gives audiences a look into the traditional dances of the Romani (Gypsy) people.

Artistic Director Jeanne Schul created two tropical Latin pieces for the show as well.

“Eudaimonia” runs today and Friday at 8 p.m. as well as Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Rome City Auditorium, 601 Broad St. Tickets are $6 for opening night and $8 for all other performances. Tickets are available at the door.
