Over 5,000 herbs will be available, along with hundreds of perennials and annuals. Garden vegetables and fruit trees are also available for sale. Credit and debit cards will be accepted, as well as checks and cash. All proceeds will go to benefit the Chieftain’s Museum/ Major Ridge Home.
The Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home is one of only a few private entities to be certified by the National Park Service as a site on the Trail of Tears. Ridge, whose old home Chieftains now occupies, was one of the signers of the Treaty of New Echota, which resulted in the forced relocation of the Cherokee people. The vision of the Chieftain’s Museum is to maintain the home’s original structures to educate visitors on the history of the Cherokee people.
