The floodgates at the new entrance of Heritage Park were installed Friday morning at 9:30 a.m.

The placement of the gate was delayed from an expected installation on Thursday.

The work is part of the new cut-through into the park across Second Avenue from West Fifth Street.

Acme Metal Works in Chattanooga, Tenn., manufactured the gate, which is nearly 19 feet high and 34 feet wide.
