There’s no guarantee that the weather will be ideal, but there is a 100 percent chance of quality golf being played this week during the Burgett H. Mooney Jr. Rome Classic at Coosa Country Club.

The tournament festivities begin today with a Junior-Am that tees off at 8:30 a.m. Later today, the players will participate in a practice round that starts at 1:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, the 54-hole, stroke-play tournament begins, with some of the top young golfers from around the nation competing. Tournament officials are expecting a 99-player field for the event.

Coverage of the tourney can be found all week in the RN-T print edition and online at RN-T.com.
