Police: Man had beer in pants

A Floyd County man is being held in jail on a probation violation after his early morning arrest on shoplifting charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Marlon Bertrand Whitehead, 36, of 101 Pine St. was arrested by Rome Police shortly after 1 a.m. and charged with misdemeanor shoplifting at the Mapco Express, 2000 N. Broad St.

Police said Whitehead took a 12-pack of Budweiser Light valued at $9.69 and hid it in his pants leg.

He is being held without bail on a probation violation.
